Army adds more time to ITES-2S to mitigate delays to version 3

The $20 billion ITES-2S vehicle has been extended by another two years as the Army works through the delays caused by a series of pre-award protests.

The Army has extended the current iteration of its primary commercial IT product and services contract by an additional two years to mitigate disruption caused by protests over the next version of the vehicle.

No dollar amounts were disclosed the FedBizOpps notice issued Wednesday that describes the extension of the $20 billion Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services contract known as ITES-2S.

Proposals for the follow-on $12.1 billion ITES-3S contract were due to the Army on March 30, 2016, but the vehicle has been held up by a series of pre-award protests. An award on the follow-on is anticipated for October of this year, according to Deltek data.

Incumbents on the current ITES-2S contract are AECOM, BAE Systems Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI International,  CSRA, DXC Technology, General Dynamics, IBM, Leidos, NCI Inc., Northrop Grumman, NTT Data, Peraton, Pragmatics, Science Applications International Corp. and STG Inc.

The top five takers of task orders have been Northrop, GD, SAIC, Leidos and CACI since the vehicle was first awarded in 2006.
