Marines looking for mobile device management system

The Marine Corps is gathering information as it explores development of a mobile device management system.

The Marine Corps Systems Command is gathering insights for an enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution.

EMM solution would provide management capabilities for mobile devices inside the U.S. and across the globe, according to a new solutions sought notice.

This capability will integrate with existing U.S. Marine Corps Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, and other network components.

A potential EMM solution would need the capabilities such as:

  • Enterprise mobility management solution
  • Mobility integration areas
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) cyber remediation
  • Additional optional components and special requirements

The Marine Corps has about 11,000 devices using the primary USMC mobile device management solution. A consolidation of the USMC network requirements may increase the total number to 18,000 devices in fiscal 2018, and further expected growth to come.

The Marine Corps anticipates a five year contract.

The Marine Corps released the request for information Dec. 6. Responses are due by Jan. 4.
