Fluor awarded $831M Puerto Rico power construction contract

Fluor wins an $831 million contract for construction services to the Army Corps of Engineers to help restore electricity in Puerto Rico.

Fluor has won an $831 million contract for construction services to the Army Corps of Engineers in support of efforts to help restore electricity in Puerto Rico.

The Army solicited bids from nine firms and received two bids for the time-and-materials contract for work through Feb. 28, 2018, the Defense Department said in its Friday contracts digest.

This award comes two months after Fluor reported a six-month, $240 million task order for similar work to restore electric power after Hurricane Maria. The Louis Berger Group received an $860 million contract award in late November to support the effort in both Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
