Special Operations Command plans small biz roundtable

The U.S. Special Operations Command is planning a small business roundtable in Tampa to learn about barriers to working with the command.

The U.S. Special Operations Command is hosting a small business roundtable in Tampa, Florida, Oct. 17.

Officials want to hear from small companies about the barriers for doing business with the command, get input as to what the command is doing well, and give suggestions for how to make it easier to do business with the command, according to a sources sought notice.

The Special Operations Command noted its criteria in choosing its attendees, including:

  • Socioeconomic status, as it attempts to get various types of categories
  • Companies’ products and services that tend toward what USSOCOM buys
  • Experience with USSOCOM
  • Previous roundtable attendance
  • The firm’s location

In addition, the command will consider when it receives a company’s attendance request. It is accepting responses until Sept. 25. It will send out invitations to attendees no later than Sept. 29.

The command said the roundtables won’t be for companies to discuss their capabilities or to receive a forecast for upcoming requirements.
