Vencore wins Navy ocean dynamics tech R&D work

Vencore wins a five-year, $22.8 million Navy contract to conduct research-and-development work in ocean dynamics and predictive oceanography.
Vencore has won a five-year, $22.8 million contract to conduct research-and-development work for the Navy in the areas of ocean dynamics and predictive oceanography.
The Naval Research Laboratory held a competition for this contract under a March broad agency announcement and received an undefined number of "numerous offers," the Defense Department said in its Monday contracts digest.
That BAA covers dozens of topic areas the laboratory seeks industry expertise in, including the area Vencore won the work in. NRL said it will likely award contracts for most work but could also undertake grants, cooperative agreements and "other transactions" at times.
NRL specifically encouraged Educational Institutions, Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions to apply.
Vencore will perform its work through Sept. 14, 2022 at a company facility at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. Stennis hosts both the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and Naval Oceanographic Office.
