Gryphon names NAVSEA, PSC vet Punderson COO

Professional and engineering services contractor Gryphon Technologies hires former Professional Services Council and Naval Sea Systems Command executive Jerry Punderson as chief operating officer.

Gryphon Technologies has hired former Professional Services Council and Naval Sea Systems Command executive Jerry Punderson as chief operating officer.

Punderson will oversee the Washington-based professional and engineering services provider's government contracts and focus on performance, quality, scheduling and cost control functions.

At NAVSEA, Punderson was its senior contracting official and oversaw a large portfolio of shipbuilding and weapons systems procurement programs. His career at NAVSEA includes a stint as director of its undersea systems contract division before his elevation to director of contracts.

He joined PSC in 2014 as senior vice president of its defense and intelligence council, the trade association's primary platform for engagement on defense and intelligence community issues.

Gryphon received approximately $78.7 million in prime contracting obligations during the 2016 federal fiscal year with 86 percent of that from the Navy, according to Deltek. The company is a prime on the Navy's Seaport-e professional services contract vehicle.
