Metron to build software for Navy modeling, simulation platform

Metron adds its second contract in the last two months for services to help the Navy develop a modeling and simulation environment.

Metron will develop software and training materials for the Navy under a potential three-year, $25.8 million sole-source contract in support of a modeling and simulation environment.

This contract covers work over one base year with two option years and comes nearly two months after the Navy awarded Metron a three-year contract estimated at $10 million to provide system source code, documentation and requirements for the Executable Architecture Management System.

ExAMS is designed to help the Navy assess how force assets interact through the use of data to build operational and engineering metrics, according to Metron. The Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command sees ExAMS as part of efforts to

The company has worked to develop ExAMS for at least five years and the Navy seeks to take charge of the system by 2019, according to contracting documents.
