DISA plans $592M vehicle for processing power
DISA has released a solicitation for a set of contracts that will let it buy on demand processing power.
The Defense Information Systems Agency released a solicitation for a 10-year, $592 million program for processor capacity services.
Through three separate indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contracts, DISA wants reliable, responsive, and cost-effective processor infrastructure services for processing capabilities. The agency’s goal is setting up a scalable capability, using an on-demand service approach, for new equipment. The capacity services must be ready to adjust to coming changes, for both increases and decreases in service needs, and be priced on an “as used” basis or tiered structure.

- Installation and configuration

- Facilities and racks
- DISA “green” initiatives
- Technology refresh program
- Service transition and exit strategy
- Removal of equipment
- Quality program
DISA intends to award three single-award IDIQs. The agency plans to awards one IDIQ for the Z-Series chipset and operating system, one IDIQ for the Itanium chipset and operating system, and the last IDIQ for the System P chipset and operating system.
DISA released its request for proposals May 8. Responses are due by June 7.
