Raytheon signs $1B radar deal with Qatar

Raytheon will provide the country of Qatar with an early warning radar system under a $1.1 billion deal the company signed with the country last week.

Raytheon will provide the country of Qatar with an early warning radar system under a $1.1 billion deal the company signed with the country last week.

The radar system will be integrated into the Qatar integrated air and missile defense enterprise.

The contract is a sole source award through the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass.

Raytheon won several contracts in recent years with Qatar to provide missile defense capabilities, including a $2.4 billion in 2014 to supply a Patriot Air and Missile Defense System.
