Leidos delivers first installment on huge DOD health records project
Leidos has installed the military’s new electronic health record system at its first site under the $4.3 billion MHS Genesis contract.
The military’s new electronic health record system is live after almost four years on the drawing board, according to FCW. It is now live at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash.
The system—MHS Genesis—was installed by a group led by Leidos. The company won the $4.3 billion contract to work on the system in July 2015, beating out an IBM led team.
The system was initially supposed to launch at Fairchild and Oak Harbor Naval Hospital, Wash., but there was a delay announced in October 2016 to allow Defense Healthcare Management Systems to include additional features.
The Defense Department will have an additional update on the roll out on Feb. 15, FCW reported.
