General Atomics wins $310M UAV logistics contract

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has won a $310 million contract to provide logistics in support of the Army’s MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft system.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has won a $310 million contract to provide logistics in support of the Army’s MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft system.

Developed as an upgrade of the General Atomics MQ-1 Predator, the Gray Eagle UAV is a medium-altitude, long-endurance craft used by the Army.

Work will be performed in Poway, Calif., and is expected to be completed in October 2017.

General Atomics was the only bidder, the Defense Department said in a release.
