Raytheon wins $25M contract to support Phalanx system

Raytheon has won a $25 million contract to support the Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System spares.

Raytheon has won a $25 million contract with the Navy to support the Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System spares.

The MK 15 Close-In Weapon System Phalanx is an is an autonomous, self-defense weapon system that integrates a fire-control system, search and track radars, infrared tracker and Gatling gun into a single configuration, the Defense Department said in a release.

The Land-Based system is a variant of the CIWS that is mounted onto a trailer.

Work is expected to be completed in January 2019.
