Raytheon wins $12M contract to support Abrams targeting system

Raytheon has won a $12 million contract to exercise line items under its Abrams Integrated Display and Targeting System (AIDATS) contract with the Marine Corps.

The AIDATS system upgrades the thermal and day sights on the stabilized commander’s weapon station through a state-of-the-art, high-definition camera and permanently mounted color display, the Marine Corps said on its website.

The system will improve the tank commander’s situational awareness through an upgraded thermal sight, color day camera, and single stationary display. 

The line items are related to low-rate initial production units  and first article testing support, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed at McKinney, Texas.
