Foster Miller wins $10.3M contract to provide robotic system support

Foster Miller Inc. has won a $10.3 million contract to provide post-production support for a bomb disposal robot.

Foster Miller Inc. has won a $10.3 million contract to provide post-production support for a Man Transportable Robotic System MK 2 (MTRS MK2), which is used for bomb disposal.

The MTRS MK2 provides military explosive ordnance disposal technicians with the ability to perform reconnaissance remotely, according to the Defense Department. Foster Miller owns all data rights to the system.

This contract includes options, which would bring the value of the contract to $31.7 million if exercised, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in Waltham, Mass. and is expected to be complete in August 2017. If options are exercised, work will continue through August 2019.
