Raytheon wins $132.5M contract to support missile defense system
Raytheon has won a $132.5 million contract to continue supporting the Missile Defense Agency’s Ballistic Missile Defense System.
Raytheon has won a $132.5 million contract to continue supporting the Missile Defense Agency’s Ballistic Missile Defense System.
The Ballistic Missile Defense System is an integrated, layered architecture that provides opportunities to destroy missiles and their warheads before they reach their targets, the Missile Defense Agency said on its website.
Under the contract, Raytheon will continue providing software maintenance, models and simulations, engineering support and test planning for the defense system as well as execution and analysis for X-Band radars.
This contract brings the total value of the contract from $910.4 million to over $1 billion.
Work will be performed in Woburn, Mass., and is expected to be completed in October 2017.
