Galois wins $10M contract to develop defensive software systems
Galois has won a $10 million contract from DARPA to reduce software security vulnerabilities and protect legacy systems from attacks.
Galois has won a $10 million contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to support its Cyber Fault-tolerant Attack Recovery program.
DARPA’s Cyber Fault-tolerant Attack Recovery program aims to develop defensive cyber techniques that can protect and secure software systems, according to the agency’s website. The program aims to reduce software security vulnerabilities and protect legacy systems from attacks.
This contract will enable Galois, in collaboration with teammates Trail of Bits, Immunant and University of California, Irvine, to implement the company’s Robust, Assured Diversity for Software Systems solution. This solution will explore diversified programs as a form of defense and will be able to detect security breaches in current and legacy systems, the company said in a release.
The program will also seek to address challenges in the system including the recovery process in the event of an attack and support for multi-threaded and multi-process applications.
