Charles River Analytics Inc. has won an $8.2 million contract to provide the Air Force with software.

Under the contract, Charles River Analytics will be working to drive research and development of novel technologies, the Defense Department said.

The company will build, test and deploy software systems that can automatically adapt to a variety of changes throughout their lifespan.

Work will be performed at Cambridge, Mass., and is expected to be completed in November 2019.

Forty-one small businesses bid on this contract.
