Forest Service considers $22M financial system support contract

The U.S. Forest Service has released a draft performance work statement for a $22 million contract to support its financial management and accounting systems.

The Forest Service released a draft performance work statement for a potential four-year, $22 million financial management support contract.

The Forest Service’s Chief Financial Officer needs functional support services for financial management and accounting systems as well as systems maintenance, financial reporting, budgeting, and grants management.

The contractor will aid the service in developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting its financial and mixed financial systems.

The contract’s task areas will include:

  • Financial systems and business process improvements
  • Grants management support
  • Financial management support for the National Conservation Service

The Forest Service uses Federal Financial Modernization Initiative, a SAP application, to provide financial applications for its programs and operations. Daily work applies financial systems planning and management concepts such as systems design, development, implementation, operations, and reporting.

The Forest Service released its draft performance work statement Oct. 21. Responses are due by Oct. 29.
