Air Force names 20 to $7.9B NetCents 2 NetOps contract

The Air Force has made another round of NetCents 2 awards, this time for the $7.9 billion, full-and-open portion of the agency’s NetCents network operations and infrastructure contract.

The Air Force has made another round of NetCents 2 awards, this time for the $7.9 billion, full-and-open portion of the agency’s NetCents network operations and infrastructure contract.

The Air Force named the winners of the small business portion of the NetCents 2 network operations and infrastructure contract – worth $5.8 billion – in early April 2015. Twenty-nine companies bid for spots on the contract, but only 17 small businesses made the cut.

The NetCents 2 network operations and infrastructure contract calls for a wide range of services and solutions that support existing legacy infrastructure, networks, systems, and operations. The services and solutions will also help evolve the Air Force’s infrastructure, networks, systems and operations to comply with its enterprise architecture.

According to the Defense Department, 21 companies bid on this contract. One company did not make the list.
