The NetCents 2 network operations and infrastructure contract calls for a variety of services and solutions around network operations, enterprise services and infrastructure development and operations and network management and defense.

Originally awarded in March 2014, this NetCents network operations and infrastructure contract—much like the NetCents 2 Application Services contract after it—was plagued by delays wrought by bid protests.

The Air Force originally made 12 awards in March 2014. They were then slammed with a number of protests.

Among the protestors were Abacus Technology Corp., CDO Technologies Inc., and Intelligent Decisions, all of whom made the cut this time around.

NetCents 2 network operations and infrastructure is a small business competitive acquisition. Because telephony is included as one of the primary services under the contract, it pulls in a much larger small business standard that is based on number of employees as opposed to revenue, thereby explaining the presence of companies like American Systems, Telos, STG Inc. and MicroTech among the other winners.

Twenty-nine bids were originally made on this contract.

Earlier this week, the Air Force added 10 more companies to its $960 million NetCents 2 application services contract.
