This is the company’s first acquisition and foray into the citizen relationship management market, and the acquisition extends the value proposition of the Accela Civic Platform for both companies’ customers and grows the portfolio of government agencies leveraging Accela for a number of different kinds of management, the company said in a release.

The acquisition will allow Accela to offer its customers an app that enables two-way communication between agency and citizen at any time and on any device, the company said. It allows citizens to request and view city and county information, create and track service requests, contact elected officials and access other agency services.
