ASM Research to modernize veterans health record system under $162M contract

ASM Research has won a $162 contract from the Veterans Affairs Department to support the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Clinical Application and Enterprise Core Services.

VistA provides an integrated inpatient and outpatient electronic health record to optimize medical care for veterans and their families.

Under the contract, ASM will enable greater interoperability of systems and health care records as well as buff out its security standards.

The company will also update VistA’s computerized patient record system so that it provides a modern, web-based access to patient records, the company said in a release.

Services that ASM will provide include technical architecture, clinical analysis, software development, engineering management and training, ASM said.

ASM Research was acquired by Accenture in September 2013. The deal won best health care transaction of 2013.
