HP scores $138M contract extension for NMCI support

HP Enterprise Services has won a $138 million contract extension from the Navy to continue servicing the Navy Marine Corps Intranet.

This extension brings the contract value up to $5.7 billion and extends the period of performance to Sept. 30, 2014.

The Navy Marine Corps Intranet is a shore-based enterprise network that provides a single, integrated and secure information technology environment for information transfer, the Navy said on its website.

HP Enterprise Services will continue to service the intranet until the Next Generation Enterprise Network contract is fully up and running, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work is being performed at 2,500 Navy and Marine Corps locations worldwide.
