Amsec nabs $188M Navy tech, logistics contract

Amsec LLC has won a $188 million contract to provide Navy ships with engineering, technical and logistics support.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract entails database systems updates, onboard training and other support for Navy surface ships and aircraft carriers.

Funding in the amount of $932,032 was obligated at the time of the award and will expire at the end of this fiscal year.

Work is expected to be completed by April 2015.

The Virginia Beach, Va.-based Amsec is a subsidiary of shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls, which was spun-off from Northrop Grumman in 2011.
