Viasat has won a $6.7 million sole-source contract with the Navy to support the ArcLight Mobile Satellite Communication System.

Viasat Inc. has won a $6.7M task order contract from the Navy to support the ArcLight Mobile Satellite Communication System.

The company will provide spares, repairs and satellite support for special projects aircraft and EP-3 aircraft, according to the Navy.

The ArcLight system is a high frequency data link for airborne applications that transmit data between aircraft, command posts and other military organizations that have access to the system.

Work will be done in Carlsbad, Calif.

The Navy awarded a no-compete contract to Viasat because the company is the only one that could meet the requirements, the Defense Department said.
