The Army wants to modernize its data management system that tracks the department’s materiel.

The Standard Study Number Line Item Number Automatic Management and Integrating System (SLAMIS) provides visibility and accountability of standard equipment throughout the full lifecycle of the materiel. SLAMIS keeps tabs on equipment from the time that officials define equipment’s requirements during the acquisition phase until it is retired from active duty.

The Army is gathering feedback for a possible three-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to modernize the business system. Work would include evaluating SLAMIS’s system architecture and developing potential ways the Army should update it, proposing plans to integrate and migrate the system while considering the nature and frequency of changes to business requirements at the Army, and then implementing the changes.

The deadline for response is Feb. 6.
