Alion Science and Technology has won a $21.3 million task order with the U.S. Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center, or ARDEC, to conduct research engineering assessments, research and analysis on current and future armament systems and munitions.
The task order was awarded under the Defense Technical Information Center’s Weapon Systems Technology Information Analysis Center contract.
ARDEC is the Army’s principal researcher, developer and sustainer of current and future armament and munitions systems, concentrating on smart munitions, indirect and direct fire armament systems, soldier weapons and more, Alion said in a release.
Under the contract, the company will evaluate a range of armament systems, munitions and enabling technologies during design, development and production phases of the engineering lifecycle.
