Lockheed subsidiary wins $11.8M SBIR option to deliver laser subsystem
Lockheed Martins Aculight has won an option under the Small Business Innovation Research program to deliver a spectral beam combined fiber laser subsystem to the Navy.
Lockheed Martin Aculight has won a $11.8 million option to fabricate, test and deliver a spectral beam combined fiber laser subsystem to the Navy.
This contract option was awarded under Phase III of the Small Business Innovation Research program. For a more detailed breakdown of the program, click here.
Work will be performed in Bothell, Wash., and is expected to be completed in August 2017.
Funding in the amount of $3.4 million was obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
Lockheed Martin Aculight is a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors. The company was originally called Aculight Corp., but changed its name after it was acquired by Lockheed Martin in 2008.
