Who owns big data?

Under whose jurisdiction is big data strategy and usage: the chief information officer, or the chief marketing officer?

Whereas the chief marketing officer oversees business aspects that can become doors for data, like social media, CIOs work to formulate and implement the proper IT strategy to help the business grow, Wired reported.

Thus, big data is really a matter for both to juggle, having different applications and priorities for each role.
