Big data might be popular, and becoming even more so, but paper documents and file keeping are still very important to businesses.

Important information is kept on paper, such as billing, claims-processing and accounts-payable records, ComputerWeekly reported.

That’s why companies should focus on digitizing documents through document capture, which is an important first step of business process automation. Once digitized, the information on these papers could be useful in big data analytics processes.
