Big data has been a 'game changer' in retail

Big data analytics has changed retail forever, Silicon Angle has reported, in three ways.

First, big data is being used for price optimization, with retailers using analytics to price their goods and services in real-time. Second, with product placement analysis, retailers are using big data to determine the effectiveness of promotional displays and improve store layouts.

Finally, big data helps out with staffing, with retailers analyzing weather forecasts, promotional campaigns and dates to meet staffing requirements on holidays, year round.
