Lockheed wins $146M contract for simulation system

New training system combines seven current training tools into a single system

Lockheed Martin has won a five-year, $146 million task order contract to design an advanced simulation-based training system for the U.S. Army.

The system will ensure Army, joint and coalition leaders are prepared to act in an evolving operational environment.

The Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability system will support training exercises that replicate operational scenarios.

It integrates seven current command and battle staff training tools into a single system and presents simulated enemy and friendly forces, enabling commanders and staff to practice decision making during high pressure military missions, Lockheed said in a release.

The company also said that the system supports the Army’s strategy for an integrated training environment that combines live, virtual and computer-generated training elements.
