CSC names ex-EMC exec as new CTO

Dan Hushon joins company to drive tech solutions

Computer Sciences Corp. has named Dan Hushon chief technology officer, where he will provide the leadership for driving the strategy and growth of the company’s technology solutions.

He begins working on Feb. 28 and will report to CSC president and CEO, Mike Lawrie.

“Our company’s transformation initiative relies heavily on our ability to drive growth in next-generation technology solutions,” Lawrie said.

“Dan’s leadership experience in developing cloud, big data and analytics, and other next-generation technologies at EMC and Sun will significantly augment our organization’s capabilities,” he said.

Hushon previously worked at EMC Corp. as chief technologist for key strategic initiatives in big data, the cloud, and next generation infrastructure, and as chief technologist of the company’s service provider business.

Before EMC, Hushon worked at Sun Microsystems in a number of roles, including chief technologist for a cloud service and for the global sales organization, CSC said in a release.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
