NASA developing small-biz strategy for $10.5B SEWP

Agency wants information on capabilities before RFP

NASA is developing its small business strategy for the $10.5 billion SEWP V contract, and it wants to know what kind of small businesses can supply a vast range of IT products.

In a sources sought notice, NASA said it wants to collect information so it can determine the right level of competition for small businesses on the contract.

A draft request for proposals for SEWP V, also known as Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement, is expected Feb. 8. The contract is a multiple award vehicle that is open to all government agencies to buy IT products and a related services. SEWP IV has had $9.4 billion in task orders run through it.

In the sources sought notice, NASA wants to identify small businesses that can provide products such as desktop computers, services, IT peripherals, network equipment, storage, security tools, software, cloud-based services, video conferencing systems and services such as installation and maintenance.

NASA also wants to make sure that small business primes on SEWP will be able to provide at least 50 percent of the work, and not subcontract out more than that amount.

The agency wants responses to the notice by Feb. 11.
