Capgemini dubs new CEO for government
Capgemini Government Solutions has promoted Douglas Charles to the position of CEO, where he will drive growth strategy. The company has also won a spot on the DHS's EAGLE II contract.
Capgemini has named Douglas Charles chief executive officer of Capgemini Government Solutions LLC, where he will continue to drive strategy and growth for the company with U.S. sector clients.
Charles will focus on clients in the areas of unemployment insurance, business information, independent verification and validation and consulting services, the company said.
He was previously a vice president in the company’s Capgemini Applications Services business unit in North America, which focuses on market development, alliances and services offerings.
Charles returned to Capgemini in 2010, having worked at Science Applications International Corp. for five years, where he was promoted to lead the company’s global commercial operations, Capgemini said in a release.
He held various roles at Ernst & Young and at Capgemini the previous 11 years, at one time serving as a vice president and account executive for Capgemini’s Emerging Markets Telecommunications practice.
Charles' promotion comes on the heels of the company winning a spot on the Homeland Security Department’s Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions II, or EAGLE II contract vehicle; specifically, the company won a spot in Functional Category 3 – Independent Test, Validation, Verification, and Evaluation.
