ICF takes on data fusion center support for DHS

ICF International has won an $18.1 million contract to help sustain and improve the integrated national network of state and major urban area fusion centers.

The contract has a one-year base and four option years, and was awarded by the U.S. Homeland Security Department, Office of Intelligence and Analysis, State and Local Program Office.

“ICF will leverage its extensive experience in working collaboratively with state and local public safety agencies on homeland security programs in a way that forges unity of effort and more effective and lasting resilience to address the threat of terrorism and other hazards facing the nation,” said John Paczkowski, ICF International vice president.

Services to be provided toward this goal are high-end policy analysis, planning and program management.

A recent Senate report criticized the effectiveness of the fusion centers, but DHS and state and local law enforcement officials have defended the centers.
