Serco to help Army with career transitions

Serco Inc. has won a $38 million contract modification that will integrate the requirements set forth by the Army Transition Implementation Plan into its Army Career Alumni Program contract.
Once integrated, the requirements will result in new blended transition training and services for U.S. soldiers, the company said.
The contract will support members of the Army National Guard and Army Reserves, establishing transition support teams that will travel to unit locations and mobilization and demobilization sites to provide the services.
Under the modification, improvements will be made to the contract’s automated resources and new instructional material will be made; additionally, a permanent Army Career Alumni Program center will be constructed in Kuwait.
For this to be possible, around 250 new employees will be hired to serve at locations around the world, the company said.
Specifically, these services include face-to-face and helpdesk support, along with an additional virtual capacity, for soldiers who can't physically come to the centers.
