SAIC board move puts Jumper in chairman's seat

Science Applications International Corp. President and CEO John Jumper has been elected chairman of the SAIC Board of Directors, effective June 15, succeeding A. Thomas Young, who will continue to serve on the board as an independent director.

The board also appointed Lawrence Nussdorf, an independent director, to serve as lead director.

Since 1998 Nussdorf has been president and COO of Clark Enterprises Inc., a privately held real estate, construction and investment company, whose interests include Clark Construction Group LLC, a general contracting company.

He also serves on the board of Pepco Holdings Inc., where he previously served as lead independent director.

SAIC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology’s 2012 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
