SAIC wins VA task to improve information management
Contractor will help manage systems and programs for VA benefits programs.
Science Applications International Corp. will provide IT assistance and management to the Veterans Affairs Department’s benefit systems under a two-year contract that could be worth as much as $37 million.
The task order from the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic calls for SAIC to provide program management, technical, engineering, application development and operational support to bring new functionality to Veterans Affairs benefit systems, according to the April 12 company announcement.
SAIC will support information management and information technology initiatives within the VA. Also the contractor will help manage systems engineering and program development processes in accordance with industry best practices.
In conjunction with VA, SAIC will facilitate the development of information management and IT strategic planning to support continued enhancements and development of VA benefit applications currently in production as well as new systems.
The task order was awarded under the Army's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services contract.
