NCI upgrades IT systems for Army modernization program

NCI Inc. will upgrade existing information systems for the Army under a one-year competitive task order worth approximately $6.1 million awarded under the company's Total Engineering and Integration Services contract.

The TEIS III task order – which is new business for NCI – supports the Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP) managed by the Engineering Directorate of the Army Information Systems Engineering Command at Fort Detrick, Md., according to a March 7 company announcement.

The federal contractor will replace or upgrade maintenance-intensive legacy systems with integrated state-of-the-art information systems that are secure, interoperable and capable of passing voice, data, and video traffic at locations approved by the Army Department.

Also, NCI will provide engineering and design services, implementation oversight, quality control, and drafting-related services for the full lifecycle of command’s projects, including planning, development, security, evaluation, and testing.

The work will take place in the continental United States, the Pacific, and Europe.

NCI support will also include providing assistance in developing Performance-Based Work Statements, Technical Data Packages, and all other supporting documents for I3MP.

NCI Inc., of Reston, Va., ranks No. 50 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
