CACI helps Army fine-tune communications efforts

CACI International Inc. will provide communications expertise to the U.S. Army Central Command under a five-year, $24 million prime contract.

This new work for CACI will enable USCENTCOM’s communications initiatives to more effectively engage with its geographically and culturally diverse audience in multiple languages, according to a Feb. 28 company announcement.

CACI will support USCENTCOM's Central Command Communications Integration organization, the principal adviser to the commander on all internal and external communication strategies.

The contract calls for assessments of information that supports senior decision-making with emphasis on regional military, political, social, and economic issues.

The company also will assess regional and domestic media for relevance to USCENTCOM and provide the commander with the ability to ensure distribution of accurate and timely official information.

With national and international partners, USCENTCOM promotes cooperation among nations and also supports development and reconstruction efforts regional security, stability and prosperity, the announcement said.

The contract broadens CACI's relationship with USCENTCOM, a key customer in the evolving Defense Department global strategy, said Dan Allen, CACI president of U.S. Operations, in the announcement.

CACI International, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 14 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
