NCI promotes IT veteran to lead AF and tech services group

Greg Hanson has more than 30 years of leadership experience including stints at the U.S. Senate and the Air Force.

NCI Inc. has promoted J. Greg Hanson to senior vice president and general manager of its Air Force and Technology Services Group.

Hanson has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the federal defense and civilian sectors, as well as in industry and academia, according to a Feb. 14 company announcement.

Before joining NCI, he was chief operating officer at Criterion Systems, responsible for all business operations. Previously, Hanson served as the first assistant sergeant at arms and CIO in the U.S. Senate.

He also served as CTO at Universal Systems & Technology, where he managed the Transportation Security Administration’s first support contract and assisted the newly formed CIO office as the TSA was being organized.

Hanson retired from the Air Force as chief software engineer in 1997.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Central Florida, M.S. in Information Systems from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, and B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
