Siemens selects former U.S. commander to head boardroom

Former high-level U.S. commander in Afghanistan retired Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal has won the chairman of the board of directors role for a contracting conglomerate, reports the Washington Post.

Siemens Corp, based in Germany, selected McChrystal to chair its newly formed federal operations board and will serve alongside retired Gen. John Sylvester, former chief of staff of the U.S. European Command in Germany; and Robert Coutts, a 2008 retiree form Lockheed Martin's electronic systems business unit.

The newspaper said that McChrystal was impressed by the contractor's commitment to hiring veterans and its focus on health care and energy topics.
