STG names new SVP for defense sector

Robert Phoebus brings to the company more than 30 years of experience in operations, product and business development.

STG, of Reston, Va., ranks  on Washington Technology’s  of the largest federal government contractors.

STG Inc. has hired Robert Phoebus as senior vice president of its defense business, responsible for its operation and oversight.

Phoebus has more than 30 years of industry experience that spans leadership positions in operations, product development, business development, project management, and consulting, according to a Dec. 7 company announcement.

Before joining STG, he was chief operating officer at Federal Resources Corp.

His work history also includes management positions at Nortel Government Solutions, SAIC and Electronic Data Systems.

STG’s defense sector supports warfighter systems and IT operations for the Defense Department, including enterprise network and server operations, cyber defense, weapons systems development, software and application development, enterprise architecture, systems engineering and business process reengineering.

Phoebus has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Park University and served for 10 years in the Marine Corps.
