ManTech’s $90M purchase opens access to $6.6B contract

ManTech International Corp. will pay $90 million in cash to acquire Worldwide Information Network Systems Inc., an IT solutions provider in Seabrook, Md.
The company specializes in network and infrastructure engineering, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and systems development. It also provides software development and integration, and end-user workspace management, according to the Oct. 27 ManTech announcement.
When WINS is integrated into ManTech's Mission, Cyber and Technology Solutions group, ManTech will be enable to deliver IT services through WINS' prime position on the Defense Intelligence Agency's Solutions for Information Technology Enterprises (SITE) contract, a $6.6 billion task order contract vehicle that runs through 2015, the announcement said.
Founded in 2001, WINS is a private company whose clients include the Defense and State departments and other agencies.
The acquisition, which is expected to be completed in November, is subject to various closing conditions and approvals, including approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act.
ManTech International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
