GTSI hires COO to oversee core operations

New executive most recently served as president of Cobham Defense Systems

GTSI Corp. has hired Jeremy Wensinger as its chief operating officer in charge of core operational activities.

Wensinger, who will report to CEO Sterling Phillips, has more than 20 years of executive experience in the federal technology sector, having most recently served as president of Cobham Defense Systems, a manufacturer of critical technology for network-centric and intelligence operations, the company announced Oct. 3.

Previously, he served as group president of the Government Communication Systems unit at Harris Corp., where he led the company's federal civilian agency, intelligence agency and technical services programs.

GTSI, of Herndon, Va., ranks No. 68 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
