Oracle recruits HP hardware partners, report says

Oracle sets its sights on recruiting HP resellers to grow rapidly over the next year.

Oracle Corp. is trying to snag hardware partners from Hewlett-Packard Co. in an effort to grow its solution provider network , reports CRN.

The goal is to cultivate 25,000 partners up from about 8,000 over the next year in an "aggressive recruitment blitz," the article states.

Judson Althoff, senior vice president of Oracle's worldwide alliances and channel sales, at a press briefing spoke of HP's plans to spin off its PC business and its potential damaging effect, as well as last month's firing of HP CEO Leo Apotheker.
