SAIC provides engineering help to Navy center

Science Applications International Corp. will provide management and engineering assistance to the Navy under a three-year prime contract that has a ceiling value of more than $10 million if all options are exercised.

The award from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, calls for SAIC to support the Ship Systems Engineering Station in Philadelphia, according to a Sept. 29 SAIC announcement.

SAIC will provide lifecycle engineering and management solutions as needed to support the implementation and execution of enabling technology programs under development at the Philadelphia facility.

The contractor also will provide professional engineering and technical services required to develop and integrate enhancements to the Navy's Remote Monitoring, Condition Assessments Systems, Shipboard Network Protection Systems and other efforts related to Navy modernization programs, the announcement said.

The NSWC Carderock Division provides research, development, test and evaluation, analysis, acquisition support, in-service engineering, logistics and integration of surface and undersea vehicles and associated systems.

The work will be performed primarily at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center.
