QinetiQ North America will provide software development for the Army under a five-year cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract worth a maximum of $39.8 million.

QinetiQ North America will work with the Architecture Characterization Program of the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center in Huntsville, Ala., to develop innovative tools and technologies.

The contractor will perform architecture definition, concept development, scenario development, constructive simulation and analysis.

The contract also calls for QinetiQ’s assistance in training operations and deployment, virtual prototype development and exercises, physical prototype fabrication, and field experimentation.

The scope of the work includes air and missile defense, force protection, cyber technology integration, brigade combat team modernization, and exercise and training support.

The Army Architecture Characterization Program is a research and development function that spans basic and applied research, including provisions for technology development and demonstration, the announcement said.
