Evergreen Unmanned Systems provides technical support for unmanned aircraft systems.

The acquisition will enable VT Group to extend its aviation support capabilities in fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft and missile systems for the rapidly growing UAS market, according to an announcement from VT group dated Sept. 28.

Evergreen Unmanned Systems employees will join VT Group’s Technical Services Division and continue to work with customers in the field or at the campus in McMinnville, Ore.

Brian Whiteside will lead the UAS organization and report to Chris Taylor, president of the Technical Services Division, within VT Group, the announcement states.

“Over the next 10 years, the UAS market is on pace to more than double, representing significant opportunities for companies with the right capabilities,” VT Group CEO David Dacquino said in the announcement.

“By combining VT Group’s extensive aviation support experience with Evergreen Unmanned Systems’ capabilities and performance record, we can offer an enhanced capability in this developing market,” he added.

The firm’s current service offerings include training, logistics, operations, payload integration and testing to a range of government and commercial customers.

VT Group, of Washington, D.C., is the U.S. arm of U.K.-based Babcock International Group PLC. It provides technical services including maintenance, training, logistics and high-level program analysis to the Defense Department and other government agencies.
